Looking for a book to put under the tree? Here are Isla's picture books sorted by the child you're buying for. Most come as hardback, paperback, ebook and audiobook.
Lila the little llama has never heard of Christmas, so she sets off to find out what it's all about. Why do people bring a tree indoors? Why write cards? Along the way she makes new friends who help her understand what the season really means. A lovely first Christmas story for little ones who are full of questions.
Nessie the Loch Ness monster has never celebrated Christmas. Her friend the otter explains why humans fill their homes with trees and presents, and that gives Nessie an idea: if humans can do it, monsters can too. A festive story about friendship, with a Christmas party at the bottom of Loch Ness.
This year, everything is different. People wear masks to keep each other safe, and so does Santa!
Sending a present to a little one far from Scotland, or to a child who already loves Nessie? Pair the two Nessie books.
Nessie takes a secret tunnel to the sea and hears rumours of a unicorn. A summer seaside adventure that gently introduces children to looking after the ocean.
Three Little Llama books in one: Lila meets a unicorn, adopts a cat and takes a rocket into space. A good-value gift for a child who loves to hear the same characters again and again.
From A for Anatomy to Z for Zoology, each letter introduces a different corner of science with a bright illustration and a simple explanation. Ideal for the child who never stops asking "why?"
Cleo the koala finds a magical astronaut helmet and goes bouncing across the moon.
Maribus Honey, the lonely bunny who lives on the moon, builds a ladder down to Earth to find a friend. The story rhymes, which makes it a bedtime favourite.
Christmas isn't easy for every family. These books help children talk about things that can be hard to explain.
Grandpa Bunny forgets where he put the carrots, and one day he forgets Ben's name. The doctor says it's dementia. This book helps children understand what's happening and gives them ideas for spending time with a grandparent who has dementia. Helpful before a family visit over the holidays.
Some days Luka the blue whale doesn't feel happy at all. His friend Jenny wants to help, and a wise mermaid shows her how. A gentle introduction to low mood and depression.
The full story of Blaze, the little unicorn without a horn, with colouring pages from his world. Each colouring page is followed by a blank page, so pens won't bleed through. A good one for the long days between Christmas and New Year.
Buying for a bilingual family? Das kleine Lama feiert Weihnachten, Nessie feiert Weihnachten, La Petite Lama Découvre Noël, La Pequeña Llama Descubre la Navidad and De Kleine Lama Leert Over Kerstmis.
